Dr. Jeff Laughlin grew up in Wilburton, a small town in southeastern Oklahoma. He and his wife, Julie, met while in grade school at the church Julie attended when Jeff’s grandfather was called to be their pastor. During Jeff’s second semester of college he and Julie began dating. They married July 8, 1995. After being married, Jeff continued his education and graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Science Education degree in 2001. While at NSU he felt and answered the call to serve as pastor. After graduating from NSU the Laughlin’s moved to Fort Worth so Jeff could attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated in 2005 with his Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages. He later felt the call and returned to Southwestern to work on his doctoral degree. He graduated with his Doctor of Ministry in Worldview and Cultural engagement in 2017. His dissertation is entitled Nurturing a Christian Worldview in Youth.
Dr. Laughlin and his wife, Julie, have 3 daughters, Hannah, Rachael,and Abigail. He has pastored churches in Oklahoma and Texas. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, ham radio, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and reading.
